Mama Mio Tummy Butter

Preggy bellies – this is for you. We received a couple of Mama Mio products at the beginning of my pregnancy to try out. Since it has been a good 5 months trying them, here I am to tell you what I think of them and if you should try it too.

The main attraction in this gift set was the Tummy Butter. Lord knows every pregnant mama looks for a GOOD tummy butter. I was very excited to try it as I have only heard good things. I posted it to my instastories and was inundated with responses saying how awesome Mama Mio is. You guys set the bar high with those messages you know!

Anyhoo – I open this little (big) jar of magic and the SMELL! It was incredible. It honestly smelled like a spa mixed with a candy store. Yet, still not overpowering. I cannot use strongly scented products because it triggers my migraines so quickly. Did the smell of this tummy butter trigger any migraines for me? Nope, nope and definitely, nope.

LET ME PUT A DISCLAIMER HERE:

I don’t get stretch marks. It’s genetic and if it’s in your genes, no amount of cream can help you NOT get it. It can make it less visible, help it heal or minimize them but unfortunately to an extent, it is out of your control. I do however get slight stretch marks on my upper thighs that lighten a lot after pregnancy.

MY THOUGHTS?

The tummy butter is quite thick but easy to move around. It absorbs quickly as well without that nasty residue that some oils/creams leave behind. It really helps when my tummy gets super itchy from stretching out and relieves that horrible itchy feeling. It does keep my tummy wonderfully moisturized and looking great. It is on the expensive side, but I would buy this literally just for the smell. (Yes, it’s THAT good) It really does keep your skin comfortable and hydrated – exactly what you need during pregnancy.

So, let’s look at what is inside this butter that makes it so wonderful?

Shea Butter
Helps lock in moisture and surrounds skin in a protective layer
Organic Avocado Oil
With excellent moisturizing and nourishing properties
Organic Sacha Inchi Oil
From the Amazon rainforest, packed with antioxidants and Omega 3, to boost skin’s rejuvenation Organic Rosehip Oil
With nourishing Omegas 3, 6 and 9
Vitamin E
An essential antioxidant to protect skin as it stretches

So, a bunch of good stuff and none of the nasties! Isn’t it great to find all-natural products nowadays?
